Tabas, the largest coking coalfield in Iran
Tabas coalfield, extended over 30,000km2 at southwest of the city, with an explored deposit of 2.75 billion tons of thermal and coking coal, is the biggest colliery in Iran.
Approximately 76% of the whole coal deposits of Iran, is placed in Tabas.
Parvadeh area with an extent of 1200km2, has a geological deposit of 1.1 billion tons is the largest coalfield in Iran.
The first phase of Tabas Parvadeh project was introduced and started targeting 1.5 million tons of raw coal per annum to produce 750,000 tons of clean coal.
Tabas Parvadeh Coal Company (TPCCO) as the first operator of the fully mechanized underground coal mines in Iran, started Longwall mining operation in Parvadeh I mine and simultaneously, started the largest Coal Preparation Plant (CPP) of the country, adjacent to the mine, with a feed capacity of 300 tons per hour and in the development plan of the coal processing plant, with the addition of spiral and TBS systems, the feeding capacity has increased to 360 tons per hour.

TPCCO as the largest company of the area and the biggest coal producer in Iran, while serves an influencing role in economic, social, industrial, mining, civil, educational, healthcare, cultural and sports development of the city and the province, has created more than 3200 stable job opportunities resulted in social growth and security and also, has rendered valuable services in these fields as his social responsibilities.
About 48% of the area and 29% of the country coal production, belong to TPCCO which supplies, on his own, a great demand of Iran’s coking industry, especially Esfahan Steel Company.

Biggest coal producer of the country for 11 consecutive years from 2014 to 2024
During 17 years of mechanized mining operations, TPCCO has completed more than 81500 meters underground tunneling, successfully excavated 9 Longwall panels, excavated more than 15.5 million tons of raw coal, and produced over 7.18 million tons of clean coal by the end of 2024.
In accordance with Article 44 of the Iranian Constitution, 100% of the company’s shares were privatized in 2014.
Sadr Tamin is the owner of the highest share of the total shares of TPCCO and is as the main shareholder of the company.

Entering into the Capital Market
TPCCO shares, as the 229th symbol in exchange market, was listed as “Kezoghal” on 21 December 2020 in over-the-counter rates and the shares have been traded in the market since 3 February 2021, as the 177th company of the OTC market.
Development Plans
Planning to prepare the mine, produce and process the coal from new mining area in block VI and south area of Parvadeh IV with a deposit of 78 million tons and extraction of 500 thousand tons raw coal and 400 thousand tons of concentrate.
Performing explorations in new blocks of Parvadeh coalfield with the strategic objective of development and enhancing national coal production by 2028.
Following up purchasing the second set of mechanized Longwall equipment in order to diminish production downtimes due to overhaul and increase the production capacity of concentrate by 208 thousand tons
- Increasing the feeding capacity of the coal washing plant up to 600 tons per hour
Reverse Engineering
"To save foreign currencies and localize consumable and spare parts in mining and coal processing sectors, the following projects and initiatives are currently underway. These efforts leverage domestic engineering capabilities and are carried out in collaboration with Iranian companies:
- Standardization and reverse engineering of the dewatering centrifuge at the coal processing plant
- Manufacturing of 10 chain conveyors
- Domestic production of conveyor belts for underground coal mines
- Localization of control and signaling equipment used in coal mines
- Establishment of a manufacturing and localization engineering center for explosion-proof equipment used in underground coal mines
- Development of technical knowledge and technology for the desulfurization process of coal from Tabas mines
